We scooped the prestigious Outstanding Magazine of the Year Award and were shortlisted for the hotly contested Outstanding Website of the Year Award at this year's National Car Club Awards.
We’re over the moon to announce that TR Register has won the
Outstanding Club Magazine of the Year (Printed) Category at this
year’s National Car Club’s Awards and was shortlisted for the
Outstanding Website of the Year category 2016, both of which were
designed and produced by members of Team Bate.
Founded in 1970, the TR Register is one of the most successful one make car clubs in the world and have been working with Bate Brand for over 12 years. The TR Register caters for the needs of owners, past present and future, of the entire range of Triumph TR sports cars and members enjoy a lively social scene, the TR Action magazine, various events throughout the year and technical assitstance from model experts.
The National Car Club Awards bring together all the leading classic car and vehicle clubs and personalities from around the UK and Ireland, and an evening is dedicated to celebrating the Awards with a gala dinner at the NEC in Birmingham. Being shortlisted for a category is a prize in itself, being shortlisted for two and winning one is an absolute honor.
The award recipient for Outstanding Magazine (sponsored by Practical Classic Cars Magazine) was for the car club whose magazine has demonstrated the most innovation and creativity as well as increases in circulation, readership and, importantly, exemplary editorial quality. Team Bate work with the TR Register team every 6 weeks to produce a full colour, 84 page magazine that is rich in content, beautifully designed and engaging for the readership, so it’s fantastically rewarding to have that recognised with such a prestigious award. Our senior graphic designer, Elliot Lee, and sub-editor, Nicky Bate, were personally thanked for their dedication and hard work in creating the magazine and producing such high quality publications.
The award for Outstanding Website was to be presented to the car club whose website is leading the way in terms of design, ease of use and functionality, imagery and overall innovation. It was an honour to be considered for a second award (and in such a competitive category!), so although we didn’t win, we are proud to have been shortlisted amongst other great car club websites. See it for yourself here www.tr-register.co.uk.
All in all, a great night for both TR Register and ourselves.
